An introduction to Historical European Martial Arts, this workshop will provide an overview of longsword techniques. Colloquially known as a "bastard" sword, the longsword is ubiquitous in our perceptions of Medieval Europe. We'll unpack the name, appearance, and use of this weapon briefly before learning basic movements that comprise German Longsword fencing.
