Preparation—generating maps, developing intricate plots, and creating engaging obstacles and monsters—is vital to any successful role-playing game. But there are always bizarre player choices and crazy dice rolls that lead to unexpected twists and turns. Understanding the basics of improvisation can help both game masters and players navigate these moments and turn a fun gaming session into an unforgettable one. In this workshop, members of Knights of the Arcade, a live D&D improv comedy show based in Pittsburgh, will lead participants through the basics of improvisation and scene work using RPG scenarios as backdrops.
