With a makeshift raft and a few bags of supplies, they prepare to tough out the storm, but nobody is prepared for what happens next. There are no brass bands here today, no beignet stalls, nobody around to proclaim, “It ain’t da seafood dat makes ya fat anyway – it’s da batta!” It is no longer New Orleans.
