During this class participants will learn all the professional tricks of the trade for shadow puppet construction. The skilled staff of Sea Beast Puppet Company will cover a wide range of techniques that will allow for durable puppet construction & beautiful design. They will discuss the difference in overhead shadow puppetry vs. the more traditional against the screen method & teach which kinds of joints & construction techniques work best with each. Then students will be provided all the materials necessary to make & take their own puppet.
A panel of experts will lead a discussion and demonstration of tabletop puppetry with audience participation & lots of fun.

Description:
This is a food-puppet free-for all! There will be some direction, but for the most part, you'll get to decide what kind food you fancy the most & turn it into a rod puppet! A helpful grown-up is certainly required.
Skills required: sitting respectfully for up to an hour; drawing or tracing detailed patterns; Cutting detail in fabric & other materials using sharp scissors (small curves & sharp angles); accurately using a ruler.
Skills required for grown-up assistants: using a hot glue gun.
One adult admitted free for each paid child ticket (to help said child.)
