The Mistick Krewe of Comus invites you to their annual Mardis Gras masked ball for 1908. Dress in your carnaval best & dive into the currents of intrigue. Be wary, lest you be pulled under.
Description:
New Orleans is the last French-governed territory in North America. It is situated at the crossroads of three nations - the United States, the Republic of Texas, and the Great Plains Federation - and vital to the trade and commerce of each. In this most cosmopolitan city, the secretive Mistick Krewe of Comus, oldest and most prestigious of the city’s Carnival organizations, hosts a masked ball each year on Fat Tuesday. The event is very exclusive; invitations are highly sought after and rarely obtained. You have either been invited or “acquired” an invitation. Guests from all strata of society attend the bal masqué and struggles for supremacy between and among the city government, the mercantile companies and the underworld simmer just under the sophisticated, genteel surface. Join us at the Théâtre de l'Opéra in your formal steampunk best for a night of merriment and intrigue.

Join an expedition of scientists & explorers as they venture deep into the savage Siberian taiga to investigate the site of a mammoth explosion & subsequent bizarre atmospheric phenomena.
Description:
On the evening of June 30th, 1908, and for several nights after, strange aurora-like displays were seen in the sky all across Europe and Asia. Weeks later, eyewitness accounts trickled in from the Tunguska region of Eastern Siberia reporting that on June 30th a column of bluish light as bright as the sun split the sky, followed by a mammoth explosion and shock wave felt hundreds of miles away. Airships were diverted to investigate but all suffered failure of their HotAether systems while still a hundred miles from the blast site. As days and then weeks passed, disturbing accounts of strange lights and other bizarre phenomena near the edge of the blast zone filtered back to civilization. Now a joint expedition of the Royal Geographical Society and the Tsar of Russia will travel overland to the site of the explosion, study the phenomena and report their findings.
