You are a household knight in service to Count Robert of Salisbury. Just the year before you helped Robert, who is newly come into his knighthood and title, turn back Saxon raiders in the wake of the death of King Nanteleod of Escavalon. Your father is a married vassal knight of Salisbury, and has served that noble house long and ably. The pivotal event of your childhood was the Battle of St. Albans in 495, a great victory over the Saxon invaders that turned disastrous after King Uther Pendragon and most of his barons were poisoned in the subsequent victory feast, plunging the kingdom into an Anarchy that continues to this day.

You are a household knight to one of these petty lords who has gone raiding against a neighbor. The seneschal has called on you to explore a tower the foresters found in the forest - only one has returned. Since the lord has taken his vassal knights with him you are the only resources left to the seneschal to investigate the tower and attempt to retrieve what may be left of the other foresters. The forest may be full of raiders, demons, fey, or chaos worshipers. Keep your sword close and your shield high for in the grim darkness of Arthur's fall there is only war and horror
