An introduction to Jack Vance's Lyonesse, and the new roleplaying game from The Design Mechanism.
Description:
The villages of High and Low Dudgeon meet every midsummer to compete in a series of games (from the Low Jump to Donkey Jousting, and a whole host of strange contests in between). For ten years running, High Dudgeon has won, and Low Dudgeon is sick of it. The elders of the village smell magic and trickery, and it's up to the characters to discover why High Dudgeon continues to be victorious. But is all as it seems? What do the blacksmiths of High and Low Dudgeon have to hide? What is the nature of the strange carving on the beam of the High Dudgeon Inn? And why do the High Dudgeon competitors all perform a strange dance before every practice? Set in the high fantasy world of Jack Vance's 'Lyonesse' novels, 'In High Dudgeon' is a Vancian investigation requiring cunning, wit, and the ability to think around corners...
An introduction to the Mythras roleplaying game. This is a special, introductory adventure geared towards first time roleplayers, especially younger players.
Description:
Designed for those new to fantasy roleplaying games, Shrine of the Traitor Gods introduces some of the key concepts of both RPGs and the Mythras game engine: character cooperation, problem solving, investigation, combat, and magic use. The characters must track a gang of thugs hired by the Badoshi Warlords, who have kidnapped the children of a wealthy merchant of Meeros. The trail takes the characters across hazardous terrain, and pits them against several different kinds of challenge along the way. Pre-generated characters are provided, and the rules are simple and straightforward to grasp. If you've never roleplayed before, or have limited experience of the hobby, then this adventure may be perfect for you!
Heroes from across time and space meet in the Far Arena. Fail and remain trapped, succeed and return a hero. Co-operative arena battle demonstrating the Mythras combat system.
Description:
This is a combat-focused scenario designed to teach and highlight the specific qualities of the Mythras RPG combat system. The players will choose a hero PC from a number of pregens to use. If that PC falls in the first round, they may choose another in the second round. Please bear in mind the adventure is an arena battle, not a standard adventure, opportunities for roleplaying, exploration and character interaction will be present but minimal! Pregen PCs will be provided, due to time constraints there is no opportunity to create custom characters. No familiarity with Mythras is required, although previous experience of RuneQuest or similar is helpful. Mythras is the renamed "RuneQuest 6" rule system, derived from the RuneQuest d100 RPG. Content Warning - due to the nature of the scenario, fantasy violence will feature prominently. Headphones & microphone required.
On the edge of the Abayd desert you take a bet that you can survive a night at the Stone Circle, the Musila Halqa. A fantasy mystery horror scenario set in a homebrew world.
