The Place de la Revolution has become a gathering ground for the Libertines to watch the members of the Diamond Orders get their due. Now the imprint of this violence is taking its toll in a manner unforeseen. An old enemy has resurfaced, and threatens the delicate balance that will give birth to the People's Republic.

For the past two decades, your cabal has carefully directed the flow of revolutionary ideas and sentiment towards one goal: the destruction of the reigning Silver Ladder cabal of Paris, the Argentum Vivum. Somehow, things got a little out of hand. Now, Paris is in flames, the monarchy has fallen, and peasants howl for blood in the street. Something has taken control of the delicate political latticework you have constructed and used it to tear the country apart. But who (or what) is behind it, and how can it be stopped before Paris – and all of France – burns?
