Historically Farragut chose to attack New Orleans in April 1862 with wooden ships. What if he had been more cautious and waited until November when he would have had ironclads available? This would also mean that the confederates would be able to bring a completed C.S.S. Mississippi and C.S.S. Arkansas to the ball. This is a modified version of Scenario 24 from the original Ironclads Expansion Rules.
