Description:
Impresario is a new card game based on music history and designed by professors to be fun and educational. Nicholas Johnson (game designer) and Steve Nyktas (visual director) of Butler University, and Michael Polo (business manager) of the University of Florida, will offer playtests and discuss founding a company based on gaming and the arts. In Impresario players represent one of six countries and battle to gain the most renown for their faction. The game is based on music history of the 19th century and includes real composers, performers, locations, events, and patrons. Designed for both the classroom and casual use, this game tests theories of gamification in the arts to create a model to make learning fun, and to expand the arts community.
