The Ashen Ones, those who attempted to kindle the First Flame and failed. Only to be dragged back into the world of the living once more, as a desperate last chance to rekindle the flame. This time, a group of Ashen Ones are called upon, with the hopes that their combined souls may bring the light greater fuel. The players must survive this cycle of the Fire, and make their way to the Kiln, so that the First Flame may continue on forever. In Chapter 1, the Ashen Ones awaken for the first time, and must gather souls, equipment, and strength from the lesser foes, and take the advice and assistance from the Craftsman, the Firekeeper, and a Forsaken Ranger, in order to take on the first of their greater challenges.
