Social interaction is critical to developing a secondary (and beyond) language. A critical part of any tabletop game is the social interaction, but some games promote less inaction than others. (Chess, for example, can be played without muttering one word to your opponent.) This presentation will discuss what to look for and what to avoid when it comes to using games as language resources. There are current examples, and an open forum to brainstorm other ideas.
