We’ll be focusing on making flat objects, and will also explore techniques for combining and joining flat shapes into something bigger. This workshop will teach the basics of working with chain mail. During the course of the event, we will also demonstrate how to construct a dice bag using stainless steel rings. Participants will be working with two sets of pliers, and will get to keep their tools, finished bag, and extra rings after the event. A rectangular surface of chain mail will be made first, and we’ll then join it together to make the correct shape. The techniques learned during this workshop are the foundation for nearly any chain mail project — including armor! A bit of grip strength is required to shape the rings, but no prior experience is required.
